Evaluation of personal work so far

Overall, I am happy with the practical work that I have achieved in my six personal shoots. There are some shoots that I feel are stronger than others and the shoots that I plan more thoroughly have in fact been a lot more effective. I especially like the close up photos that I have taken on location shoots away from college, as I think these photos show the most skill and the contrast in colours have worked well. I am pleased with the topic of my personal work, as I feel it is broad enough in order to explore different areas however specific enough in order to give direction within my shoots. I think it has helped having my own macro lens at home, as I can achieve successful personal shoots if I want to do close up shots of the environment in any way. However, I think that I need to plan my shoots better as some of the location shoots I have done in college have been poor and I have only gained a couple at the most of effective pictures. Before every shoot I plan to begin my work record and complete the 'plans for this shoot' and 'what I plan to achieve' as sometimes I have done this after my shoots so I need a written down copy of what I plan to achieve and the props I need in order to complete this effectively.
