Evaluation
I really enjoyed this shoot, although I had done something similar with multiple imagery I had not used the 'b' shutter speed mode on the cameras adjustments. In my opinion, this shoot was successful and I feel that it has given me ideas of experimentation in my personal shoots in the future. Although I did not have a great deal of time, I feel that this shoot turned out better than I had anticipated and I got around four shots that I was happy with as a result. I picked up this technique relatively quickly and I managed to figure out in my head what I wanted to achieve in each shot that I did.Two evaluated photos:
This is my favourite shot from this shoot for a few different reasons. Firstly, I like the simplistic composition in this photo as I decided to place the model in the central mainly so I could get an effective photo without trying something too complex initially. I think that this photo works well with the lighter background as the models clothes are lighter in places, then her hair contrasts unlike if it was on black it would most likely blend in.
I like the idea around this photo, as it was meant to show a 'playground' clapping game that was played at a young age. I thought this would make a successful picture because of the interactive movement between the two models hands. I like this picture, however I don't think the execution was quite right as it is not completely clear what I am trying to show with the hands and the heads would have worked better if the models remained their body still other than the hands. I also like the composition in this photo as it is central, yet the subject is spread across the whole frame.
How I will use this...
I could use this technique in many ways in my personal project as I feel that it adds an interesting element to photos, and the overlap between the images between photos, if executed correctly it can be a very effective technique. I am glad that I have learnt this technique before I have started my personal project as I feel that in the studio this technique can be controlled more easily and the lighting plays a large role in the success of a photo of this kind. After looking through examples of multiple flash, I thought that a darker background would work best with this technique however I found that a couple of the white-background photos were more successful because of the ideas behind them compared to the dark backgrounds.
