Research Log- The Environment

Name- Michele Palazzi 

Comment- This photographer was awarded the number one environmental photographer of the year in 2013. Palazzi mainly photographs the environment, and issues it faces in terms of pollution and poverty and usually photographs people in landscape type pictures. I really like this photographers work, as all the photos tell a different story which is what intrigues me as a viewer.

Name- Stuart Chape

Comment- This photographer concentrates on the damage that man does to the enviroment, and the effect it has on destroying what was once less industrialised. I like this photographers work because the photographs are all unique.







Name- Kevin Dooley

Comment- This photographer mainly concentrates his work on macro photography, mainly shooting close up shots of flowers and plants.

Name- Mike McFarlane

Comment- This photographer concentrates on landscape photography, and mainly focuses the UK and countryside within it. I like his work because the content of the images are unique.




Name- Claire Le Guern 

Comment- This photographer has done a project on environmental issues, and has shot pictures that show the idea of pollution and the destruction of the planet by humans. 

Name- Tushar Sharma 

Comment- I could not find a great deal of this photographers work, however he has done work in different countries and taken pictures ranging from environmental damage to landscape work.







Name- Christine Blanch

Comment- This photographer in the main does event photography, however through different seasons she also shoots in the countryside and captures her children in daily life.






Name- Luca Libralato

Comment- I like this photographers work as they look at the agricultural side of landscape photography and photograph fields of crop for example and often works on farms.






Name- Graham Owen

Comment- This photographer largely concentrates on what I like most about macro photography, and photographing the environment. Examples of his work include those of insects and petals of flowers that show incredible amounts of detail and capture the true essence of nature in the environment.




Name- Jon Bower

Comment- This photographer is a journalist and documentator meaning that his photos tend to tell a story within them, and capture a particularly rare moment, this may be a sequence of photos or more simply just one by itself.


Name- Muralidhadan Alagar

Comment- This photographer basis' his work in his home country of India, which is why his work contains many different environments and shows the contrast between extreme poverty and parts of India that are not as affected.

Name- Philip Jackman

Comment- This photographer is largely a landscape photographer, and he captures a range of different seasons through his work and this is representative in his photos. Although he is not a professional photographer, I do like a lot of his work.

Name- Matt Bilton

Comment- This photographer is mainly an architectural photographer, and takes many photos of buildings however he does also focus on structures of trees and the close up shots of this texture. I really like this photographers work, and I plan to look further into this in my research.

Name- John Doogan

Comment- I really like this photographers work of the mountain landscapes, as they are not just simple views as many have different elements in them and I like the way in which this photographer uses natural lighting behind his photos in order to enhance them.

Name- Teresa Hill

Comment- I like the abstract aspect of this photographers work, as I feel that she shows something quite ordinarily in a different way either by altering the angle or by filling the frame almost to disguise what is happening and what it is trying to show. Her work could also be interpreted in different ways as to what she was trying to show.

Name- Thomas Riecken

Comment- This photographer relates quite largely to my personal project, as a lot of Riecken's work relates to the environment, and most of his work is outside on location shots and macro shots of flowers for example.

Name-  Samantha Forsberg

Comment- I like this photographers work that she has done with wildlife, and also she captures the change in weather seasons and how this positively or negatively affects the environment.

Name- Richard Nickson

Comment- This photographer although he is only an amateur, has a lot of work on this website and takes pictures of a lot of wildlife close-up photos which is what I plan to do at some point during my personal project if possible.

Comment- This photographer has done a lot of work on light photography, which has caught my interest and this is what I want to explore in my project later on.

Comment- This photographer has done a lot of documentation photography, however has done it in a different way to most by adding eerie atmospheres and slightly surrealist pictures.
