Plans for the shoot
For this shoot, I plan to travel to London
in order to photograph a city type of environment. This is different to most of
my personal work I have done so far, and is contrasting to the nature type of
environments that I have previously photographed. I also plan to do this at
night time so that I can capture city lights. I may also reduce the shutter
speed so that I can capture the blur from car lights and buildings. I have seen
a lot of inspiration from this type of shot on the internet, and I feel that I have
a good idea of what I want to achieve from this shoot in my head.
What I hope to achieve
From this shoot, I want to achieve mainly
landscape shots of London during the nighttime. I think that a lot of these
photos will be through the use of lights from buildings and cars to show a
busy/packed environment. I think that the shots I will achieve will require
minimal editing, and some of the photos will look unrealistic yet still
effective.
What I actually achieved
I am happy with how this shoot has turned
out, as I feel that it is particularly different to my other shoots. I tried to
concentrate on the idea of a large city environment, and I felt that I would be
able to show this through busy streets, and using lights from buildings and
monuments in order to portray this. I am pleased with the blurred images I
managed to achieve in this shoot as I feel that I have been successful in
showing what I wanted from this shoot.
This picture is one of my favourite from my
shoot in London. I like the blurred effect of the iconic red bus in this
picture, as it is stretched across the frame of the photo which gives a surreal
effect. I also like the contrasting black tones in this photo, and I think the
lighting from the buildings work well with showing a busy type of city
environment. I would have preferred it if the background was in focus slightly
more so that the blurred bus would stand out more, however I am still happy
with the shot.
