Technique Page- Depth Of Field

How depth of field can be achieved and what it is;

Depth of field is said to be the distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in focus in a photograph, this is usually described as a shallow or large/deep depth of field. This can be achieved in a number of ways by altering the aperture size, focal length and focus point. And using an appropriate lens (macro) can also be effective in improving the quality of the photo.
Like the above explanation says, we attempted to change factors such as the focal length, and the aperture in both the location and the studio settings. For example, an aperture of f/22 (small) will give a wider depth of field compared with a wide aperture such as f/2.8. Likewise, a wide angle lens (28mm) will produce a greater depth of field than a lens of 100mm.

This photo from the internet shows a large depth of field.

This photo that I have taken shows a shallow depth of field.
